Soon, utilities to be shifted in many areas for construction of 3 flyovers
LUCKNOW: Soon, shifting of electricity and water supply lines, and telecom cables will start in Hussainganj, Lalkuan, Naka, Victoria Street and Aishbagh for construction of three flyovers in the areas. A fund of ₹274 crore was released last week for the same.
Diwakar Tripathi, representative of home minister and local MP Rajnath Singh, said, “The home minister is monitoring the construction of these three flyovers. He wants the work to start soon. Hence, the shifting of utilities is to be done within a month.”
A joint survey of the area was conducted by a team of PWD, UP State Bridge Corporation, LESA, Jal Sansthan and Lucknow Municipal Corporation for shifting the utilities on Tuesday.
These flyovers have been proposed to address the public’s demand to solve the traffic problems on three routes- Hussainganj to Rajendra Nagar, Haiderganj trisection to Rajajipuram, and Bazar Khala to Charak Pathology in Chowk.
Tripathi said, “The Hussainganj route is used by over five lakh people daily, the flyover from Hussainganj to Rajendra Nagar would be of great help. A flyover from Haiderganj to Rajajipuram is also a must for the residents of Rajajipuram, Para and Buddeshwaran. Flyover from Bazarkhala to Charak Pathology will surely ease traffic on Nakkhas road.”
The flyover from Hussainganj to Rajendra Nagar will be around 2.45 km long and will come up at a cost of ₹116.81 crore. The design of the flyover has been finalised.
The Haiderganj-Rajajipuram flyover will be around 1.1 km long and will be built at the cost of ₹49 crore while the one in Bazar Khala will be around 2.54 km long to be built at a cost of ₹118 crore.
All the flyovers will be constructed by the UP State Bridge Corporation (UPSBC).
