BJP to prepare 2019 blueprint at Meerut
LUCKNOW: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will prepare the blueprint for the 2019 Lok Sabha election at its state working committee meeting in Meerut on August 11 and 12, party leaders said.
The decision was taken after a meeting of senior party leaders at the UP BJP office on Wednesday. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal were among those present on the occasion.
Party chief Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath and his entire council of ministers in the state will attend the Meerut meeting that has been scheduled even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding rallies across the state to prepare the ground for his party ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
State BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey said Modi’s rallies in UP charged up the party cadre. Similarly, UP BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said after the meeting: “The turnout at these rallies by the PM is a clear indication of how highly Modiji’s ratings are among the public. On our part, we are making the masses aware of the various initiatives that the Modi and the Yogi governments have taken for the people.”
Pandey said, “We also discussed PM Modi’s forthcoming rally in Shahjahanpur on Saturday in which about three lakh farmers will be present to hear the PM who has taken the historic step of increasing the minimum support price of various crops to benefit the farmers.”
At the Wednesday’s meeting, it was also decided to carry out more farmer outreach initiatives across the state.
With 80 Lok Sabha seats, UP is a crucial battle ground state where the BJP is anxious to repeat its 2014 magic when it, along with allies, won 73 seats.
