Integrated traffic mgmt, other smart city proposals cleared
LUCKNOW: It took the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get a number of smart city proposals, in the pipeline for the past three years, on track.
To note, for the past three years smart city projects have been in limbo.
Corporator Girish Mishra said had the Prime Minister’s visit to the city not been scheduled on July 28 and 29, these proposals would never have been passed.
However, on Friday a meeting of smart city special purpose vehicle (SPV) was held under the chairmanship of the divisional commissioner.
The meeting lasted for just one hour but passed several proposals, including installation of water treatment plants in Balrampur Hospital and Awanti Bai Women’s Hospital.
Proposals for construction of command centre building at Dayanidhan Park, use of GoSmart card of Lucknow Metro for payment of Lucknow Municipal Corporation house tax, beautification of Kaiserbagh crossing with CSR fund of Bank of Baroda , PNG supply in the entire Kaiserbagh area by Green Gas Limited, murals and paintings on main roads and bridges, conservation of Kothi Darshan Vilas Kothi, Kothi Roshanuddaula , Gulistan-Eram, Rifa-e-Aam Club and Chattar Manzil by INTACH were also passed.
The meeting also passed proposals for construction of Jan Suvidha Kendra at Kaiserbagh Machhli Mandi along with underground parking for 1,000 vehicles , development of integrated traffic management system and smart city surveillance system.
The proposal for free Wi-Fi at Gandhi Setu, river front, Jhandewala Park, Kargil Shaheed Park, Jhandiwala Park and Hussainabad Ghantaghar was also cleared.
