LUCKNOW : As the state capital braces for the July 29 groundbreaking ceremony, the UP tourism department is in ‘twitter drive’, hard-selling tourism destinations in the state.
For the past few days, the department has been posting tweets – with pictures, videos and animations – to showcase not only the famous but also lesser known, yet exotic, places in UP. All the posts are hashtagged #TourUp #UpNahiDekhaTohIndiaNahiDekha #UpTourism
For instance, on Tuesday, it posted a tweet on Nana Rao Park, saying: “Experience the beauty of Nana Rao Park, which was named after the great freedom fighter Nana Rao Peshwa. The park looks extraordinarily beautiful when the flowers are in full bloom. Come & explore this lush green park in #Kanpur.” Few hours before this, another tweet said: “A majestic temple with beautiful carvings and a huge facade, the Char Dham Mandir in #Ayodhya is one of the holy places for all the pilgrims.” The day before, a tweet (hashtagged #LoveForLeather) attempted to attract people to leatherwork of Kanpur, said: “Need to add some more authentic leather stuff in your closet? Come and visit #Kanpur which is famous for leather products manufacturing.” The same day, on July 23, it showcased the special ‘Paan Petha’ of Agra. On Sunday, it tweeted a Kumbh satellite picture with the text: “#DidYouKnow that the huge Kumbh crowd can be seen even from space? Stay tuned for more amazing facts.” The department is tweeting all kinds of tourism spots in the state .
