‘Ultra modern office’ for PM at IGP

-

LUCKNOW :An ultra-modern control room set up at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan (IGP) – the venue for the ground-breaking ceremony – will assist Prime Minister Narendra Modi in handling day-to-day operations of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) during his visit to Lucknow.

Officials engaged in setting up the ‘makeshift PMO’, said the control room is perhaps the state’s most advanced set-up so far. It is packed with over 30 advanced un-hack-able computers, programmed to function better than the regular ones.

Apart from these ‘super computers’ with unique software, the control room would have a set-up of advanced printers, scanners, 24-hour power backup units and other equipment. The control room would be connected with two hotlines that can connect the PM with any part of the world, if required, said officials. Special wi-fi connections, with heavy duty amplifiers capable of giving over 100Mbps speed have been installed at the office. Over three dozen television screens to keep track of news updates have also been installed at the office. Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate said, “The arrangements that include the set-up of PMO that would assist the PM on his visit, have been completed.”

Sources said initially there was a plan to set up another ‘PMO’ at Raj Bhawan, where Modi’s stay was scheduled earlier. But, the programme was cancelled. As per the latest schedule, the PM will be in Lucknow on July 28 and return to Delhi after attending the programme. He would come again for the ground-breaking ceremony on July 29, said the district magistrate.
