Checklist to help ministers keep tabs on govt schemes

LUCKNOW: A 60-to-61 point checklist is being handed over to the ministers in charge of various districts to get feedback about implementa­tion of government schemes and ensure their benefits reach the people.

As implementa­tion of government schemes has been an issue of concern for the BJP ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, chief minister Yogi Adityanath briefed his council of ministers about the checklist.

Yogi conducted a meeting of his council of ministers after presiding over the state cabinet here on Tuesday. “A checklist of 60 to 61 points is being given to ministers incharge of various districts for the purpose of reviewing implementa­tion of government programmes,” said UP government spokesman and minister for medical and health Siddharth Nath Singh.

Singh said ministers were briefed about PM Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to the state capital on July 28 and July 29 and President Ram Kovind’s visit on August 10.

RS 5.19 CRORE FOR FOUR AKHARAS

The state cabinet approved a proposal to grant a sum of Rs 5.19 crore to four Akharas for constructi­on to infrastruc­ture facilities

for Kumbh pilgrims on their land in Allahabad.

PGI LIVER TRANSPLANT UNIT

The state cabinet approved higher specificat­ions for constructi­on of the Centre for Hepatobili­ary Diseases and Liver Transplant Unit of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SG PGI) Lucknow. The original cost of project was approved to be Rs 26.67 lakh and was revised to Rs 62.42 crore in 2011. Out of this, a sum of Rs 59.21 crore has been released and used up to now. The

state cabinet approved the revised cost of Rs 67.16 crore in view of rising cost of labour and constructi­on material. The work on the project will be completed in a year.

RS 232.97 CRORE FOR MEDICAL COLLEGE IN MIRZAPUR

The state cabinet approved a proposal for expenditur­e of Rs 232.97 crore for setting up a medical college in Mirzapur. A sum of Rs 50 crore has been released for the medical college for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone early this month.
