RBI split points vs LDA ‘A’ in football

LUCKNOW: Experience­d outfit Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday scored a thrilling 2-1 win against LDA ‘A’ and collected full points in the District Football League-2018, at the Chowk Stadium here. Love Yadav scored in the 15th minute to give 1-0 lead to the winners, but soon after a change in the ends, Keshav restored parity for the LDA ‘A’ in the 40th minute (1-all). However, Soumitra Singh netted the match-winner in the 50th minute. In other match of the day, Lucknow University beat Aliganj Warrior by 3-0. Mountfort Inter College split points with Govt Jubilee Inter College in the Inter School Football Tournament after playing a goalless draw, at the Chowk Stadium here on Tuesday. Ramadhin Inter College beat St Mary’s by 1-0, whereas DPS Eldeco beat LPS Sector also by 1-0.

After losing the billiards final rather tamely, Akshay Kumar started his snooker campaign with a bang, producing the first century break in the Nawab Emaduddin Ashraf Memorial Billiards and Snooker Tournament, at the Oudh Gymkhana Club here on Tuesday. Akshay defeated Ahsen Raza 80-51, 100-29 and 80-27.

At the adjoining table, Rominder Pahwa displayed better skills and temperamen­t against Shubham Mehrotra to win the tie in straight frames 72-47, 70-45, 101-14.

The Sabihuddin (+16) vs Sanjay Chandevi (+10) match was a tensed encounter wherein after winning the first two frames, Sabihuddin could not stop Sanjay from prevailing in the third.

The tension mounted in the fourth frame before Sabihuddin hitting the winning shot to carve out 63-52, 97-18, 78-60 and 59-50 win.
