PM’s visit: Over 7.5k security men to guard city
LUCKNOW Over 7,500 police and other security personnel will guard the state capital and manage traffic during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here on Saturday and Sunday.
The PM will be in Lucknow to launch new projects involving an investment of ₹60,000 crore at the first ground-breaking ceremony.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani said at least 5,568 police officers and personnel will be deployed for security while 1,971 officers and personnel will be deployed for traffic management during the PM’s visit.
The SSP said nearly nine superintendents of police (SP) rank officials will be in charge of different tasks during the PM’s visit. “One SP-rank officer will supervise the arrangements at the airport, route and fleet movement. Besides, eight SPs will supervise security arrangements and deployment at different venues,” he explained.
Naithani said the SPs will be assisted by at least 30 additional SPs, 71 deputy SPs and 81 inspectors in the entire process.

will ensure foolproof security at the venues.”
He said at least 20 quick response teams and the strike force of the UP Anti-Terror Squad and Central Industrial Security Force will remained deployed at strategic locations. Local intelligence unit officials will also be deployed around the venues to keep close vigil on every activity, he added.
TRAFFIC DEPLOYMENT
The SSP said three additional superintendents of police (ASPs) will be deployed especially for managing traffic movement and ensuring traffic diversion according to the PM’s movement in the city.
He said the ASPs will be assisted by six deputy SPs and 12 traffic inspectors in regulating traffic movement. Around 350 sub-inspectors, 500 head constables and 1100 constables will be deployed at different points on the PM’s route and venue areas.
