Guests to get a feel of Uttar Pradesh’s rich culture

LUCKNOW The guests who will arrive here to attend the ground breaking ceremony on July 28 and 29 will be made to get a glimpse of the melange of the vibrant cultural finesse of the state.

A district administra­tion official said, “From the airport to the hotel and even Indira Gandhi Pratishtha­n in Gomti Nagar , the guests would be given the feel of the art, culture, social milieu and heritage of Uttar Pradesh.”

At several points from the airport to Indira Gandhi Pratishtha­n, artistes would perform folk songs, street plays, puppet plays, Kathghoda and various dances of the state .

This would be the best advertisem­ent of the rich culture of the state, said special secretary, culture Shishir. “UP, the biggest state of the country, has a number of art forms and also a rich repertoire of folk songs , music and literature. This is the perfect occasion to display the art forms of UP in front of the guests,” he said. The district administra­tion and Lucknow Municipal Corporatio­n are also going all out for the preparatio­n of ground breaking ceremony.

Around 200 labourers are painting the dividers from the airport to Indira Gandhi Pratishtha­n, but the masala chewers are posing a great challenge to them. At several places, the LMC had to get the dividers painted again as people spit tobacco and paan on them, said additional municipal commission­er Anil Mishra.

Indira Gandhi Pratishtha­n and 90% work has been completed. The LMC has performed patch work at 37 points on the road, pointing out to other department­s about their work to be finished before the ground breaking ceremony.”

The LMC has hired around 200 cars and SUVs for receiving the guests and ferrying them within the city. A number of Audis and BMWs have also been booked by the authoritie­s.

The Lucknow Electricit­y Supply Administra­tion has also been directed to gear up for the ceremony.MD Madhyancha­l Sanjay Goel said, “I have directed the chief engineer LESA to ensure uninterrup­ted power supply during the ground breaking ceremony.”

The effort is the present a positive picture of the state before the investors so that they remember UP as a state of opportunit­ies.
