Prolonged power cuts in many areas of Lucknow
LUCKNOW: Many localities in the state capital including Alambagh, Sardari Khera, Sujanpura, Adarsh Nagar, Anand Nagar, Geetapalli, Om Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Barha, Patel Nagar, Natkhera, Chander Nagar, Charbagh, Hussainganj and Krishna Nagar faced prolonged power cuts of around 6 to 8 hours on Thursday morning.
The residents of Chander Nagar complained that the substations of area’s Railway Power House didn’t take any phone call and kept the line busy for hours
Even the 1912 call centre gave wrong information about the resumption of power supply, they said.
According to officials of Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA), the power cuts were caused due to the recklessness of the company laying the power cables in these areas. The company, KEI, has the habit of damaging the 33 KV underground cables while

digging, said the LESA officials.
Madhukar Varma, GM, LESA cis Gomti, said, “The power outages would be taken care off. I have directed the KEI (the company laying down cables) to ensure power supply in 33 KV cables within a week or we will take action. The supply will improve once the cable laying work is over in these areas.”
Meanwhile, in wake of the proposed ground breaking ceremony to be held on July 28-29, MD, Madhyanchal, Sanjay Goel has directed the LESA officials to ensure 24X7 power supply in the city, especially in the stretch between the airport and Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
