Help BJP repeat 2014 LS polls performance, cadres urged
LUCKNOW: Senior RSS leaders in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal and state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal, have urged the cadre in Uttar Pradesh (UP) to help the party repeat the magic of 2014 Lok Sabha election.
BJP and allies had won 73 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
“Our cadres can help us repeat the magic again. The likely coalition of Saamjwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is at best going to be an opportunistic alliance. We trust our cadres would help us win each booth and once that happens we would easily be able to repeat the 2014 magic,” Ram Lal said at a party meeting of Awadh region.
Both Lal and Bansal urged the cadres to help popularise the various initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey described PM Modi as the most powerful leader in the world who is taking the country forward.
“The BJP government at the centre is busy raising India’s stock in the international community. For the poor, downtrodden, dalits and backwards the government has taken a number of initiatives. Our cadres would help us popularise that,” the leaders said. Bansal also tasked the cadre with connecting with all sections of the people.
“The cadres are committed and prime minister’s rallies have renewed their passion of seeing Modi get a second term to carry forward his development agenda,” said party spokesmen Rajesh Mishra ‘doctor’ and Satvir Singh ‘Raju’.
