GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday hit out at the opposition parties for doing negative politics by undermining the development work done by the Narendra Modi government.

Hailing the four years of the Modi government, Yogi said the country was heading swiftly towards turning into an economic super power.

While addressing the BJP workers at Gorakhpur Club, the CM said, “Opposition parties like the SP, BSP and the Congress are indulging in negative politics but in last four years the Modi government has done commendable work in ending terror, hunger and poverty which prevailed in the country since last 70 years. With major transformation on infrastructure, health, trade and industries sector, the country is moving towards turning into an economic super power,” said the CM.

Yogi claimed India had been declared the fastest growing economy due to the skilful leadership of Modi, who had at the time of taking oath made it clear that his government would work for the welfare of poor,

He hailed the centre government for reaching out to the lower rung of the society and ensuring that the benefits of government run schemes are availed by the poorest of the poor.

Yogi highlighted various government schemes launched by BJP, including Jandhan Yojna, Ujjawala Yojna and free power connection and toilets for poor.

Insisting that Modi would return as the PM again, Yogi said, “This is the government which has made air services so cheaper that even these who wears sleepers can travel in planes .”

The CM said that the opposition was trying to projects the BJP as anti-Dalit and anti-backward for political gain but they should know that it was BJP that made Dalit president.

The UP chief minister asked the party workers to use technology and social media in publicizing the government schemes and reaching out to locals in the wake of 2019 election.

For this, he suggested that party workers could seek administration’s help in getting wall paintings with pictures and narratives on government-run schemes and to adopt other creative ways, including painting competition, quizzes, slogans to publicize schemes.

The CM also laid stress on strengthening the party right from the booth level by effective booth managements through base level party workers ahead of the 2019 general election.

He said that with major transformation and development, Gorakhpur had become a development model for the state.
