ALL LIT UP TO WELCOME THE PM
A brightly litup Lucknow portrays a picturesque view ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Saturday and Sunday. On day one, the PM will attend the valedictory function of ‘Transforming Urban Landscape: Third anniversary of PMAY (U), AMRUT and smart cities mission.’ On Sunday he will launch projects worth Rs 60,000 crore and also take stock of the progress in implementation of the MoUs signed during the UP Investors’ Summit. Security has been beefed up in view of the PM’s visit.
LUCKNOW : The state police have beefed up security and intensified vigilance in the city in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here on Saturday and Sunday to launch new projects involving multi-crore investments in Uttar Pradesh at the first ground-breaking ceremony.
Senior superintendent of police Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani said special intelligence sleuths would leave no stone unturned for PM’s security. Moreover, the Lucknow police are carrying out extensive checking at district borders and other places likes railway and bus stations, hotels and dharamsalas to check credentials of visitors and guests for past seven days, he added.
He said the intelligence sleuths are collecting details about persons staying in rented accommodations in nearby areas of Indira Gandhi Prathishthan where the PM has to participate in the event. He said people staying in hotels, guesthouses and lodges for last multiple days are also on their radar and their credentials have been checked.
