LMRC, BSNL sign MoU to facilitate customer services
LUCKNOW: The Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the convenience of all ‘GoSmart’ Metro travellers presently using the Metro services between Transport Nagar and Charbagh.
The MoU was signed in the presence of managing director, LMRC Kumar Keshav and Satish Kumar, principal general manager, BSNL. Also present on the occasion were Mahendra Kumar, director (rolling stock & systems), LMRC, Ajai Kant Rastogi, director (finance)/LMRC and Karuna Raman Tiwari, general manager, BSNL.
“This is a big step towards the facilitation of customer services where the GoSmart card of Lucknow Metro shall be used for the payment of BSNL post-paid mobile bills along with the purchase of pre-paid products at the ticket office machine (TOM) counters at all the Metro stations”, said Kumar Keshav, MD/LMRC, speaking on the occasion.
Satish Kumar, principal general manager, BSNL, said, “The objective of this MoU is to create cooperation between two public sector undertakings (PSUs) to offer each other existing as well as future services and utilizing each other’s infrastructure for the benefit of customers using the Metro services as well as the BSNL communication network”.
Through this mutual relationship, BSNL will avail the smart card services offered by LMRC for collection of bills of post-paid services of BSNL and sale of pre-paid products like recharge vouchers and electronic top-up at LMRC station counters. For the purpose of sale of prepaid products, LMRC station counters or point of sale will be considered to be operationally at par with BSNL’s own customer service centres.
