City Club, Sahara FC score wins in football league

LUCKNOW : City Club and Sahara Football Club scored contrastin­g wins and collected full points in the District Football League2018, at the Chowk Stadium here on Monday.

City Club defeated RDSO 2-1, whereas Sahara Football Club shocked favourites UP Police 2-1. Kamal and Deepu scored for the City Club, whereas Ravinder netted for the RDSO. In the second match, Aishariya and Rakesh shared two goals between them.

Sagar struck two goals as Manipal Public School defeated DPS Shaheedpat­h 4-0 in the Inter School Football Tournament, at the Chowk Stadium here on Monday. Harsh and Ankit were the other goal scorers.

SURYA IN FINAL

Surya Dev (+15) defeated Ayush Agarwal (-25) 200-110 and made it to the final of the billiards event at the Pool Palace Billiards and Snooker Prize Money Handicap Tournament here on Monday. The snooker event saw some thrilling ties.

In the most absorbing match of the day, Shubham Mehrotra Jr playing with a handicap of +28 points won the hearts of one and all by surprising his seasoned opponent Saurabh Yadav (+12) to win the first frame by consummate ease at 73-15 points. Stunned by the outcome, Saurabh tied up the loose ends and potted immaculate­ly to win the next 2 frames by 73-43 and 78-55 points to proceed to the next round.

Another match which went to the wire witnessed Vishwajeet Mohan (+07) staging a timely come back against another rookie Devansh (+28) after losing the first frame by 68-84 points.

In the second frame Vishwajeet tightened his defence to win it at 80-50 before unleashing his potting capabiliti­es in the third to come out victorious at 78-55 points to enter the second round. In a minor upset Rohan Sinha (+18) went past Laraib (+12) in straight frames at 73-26 & 72-61 to reach the next round.
