RSS to organise Vaicharik Kumbh in five UP cities

VARANASI: The Rashtriya Swayamseva­k Sangh (RSS) will organise a ‘Vaicharik Kumbh’ (ideologica­l congregati­on) at five locations in UP to highlight the efforts being made by various sections to bring about a change in the society, a senior functionar­y said.

As part of the programme, a series of meetings will be held in Varanasi, Ayodhya, Vrindavan, Allahabad and Lucknow before the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad in January next year.

To discuss the preparatio­ns for the event, a meeting was held in Varanasi on Tuesday which was attended by top RSS functionar­ies including Sah Sarkaryava­h Dr Krishnagop­al.

Kashi prant pracharak of the RSS Ramesh said: “Dedicated to people working for the cause of environmen­t conservati­on, the first Vaicharik Kumbh will be held in Kashi on November 25 which will be inaugurate­d by chief minister Yogi Adityanath. A meeting each will also be organised in Ayodhya, Vrindavan, Allahabad and Lucknow.”

The programmes scheduled in Ayodhya, Vrindavan, Allahabad and Lucknow will be dedicated to social harmony, women power (matru shakti), social inclusion and youth, respective­ly.

Vigyan Bharati, an arm of the RSS, is playing a key role in organising Vaicharik Kumbh.

Each meeting will be organised on the premises of a university. In Varanasi, the programme will be held at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth.

Likewise, the Vrindavan meet will be organised at Agra University.

“Vaicharik Kumbh is an effort to bring forth the innovation­s and recognise the efforts being made by common people, social workers, doctors, engineers, professors and students who are working for the society,” the RSS functionar­y said, adding such individual­s would be honoured in the event.

“The innovation­s and efforts will be shared with the people in different parts of the state so that others may also use the idea for the cause of environmen­t,” he added.

According to RSS office-bearers, the Sangh’s volunteers and members of Vigyan Bharati have started identifyin­g such change warriors across the country. “Many have already been identified and their list is being prepared. The remaining work will be completed in the next two months,” an office-bearer said.

Vaicharik Kumbh scheduled in Lucknow will focus on identifyin­g people working for social harmony, environmen­t, generation of employment opportunit­ies, river cleaning, plantation and innovation­s.

Each event will have the presence of over 2,000 people from different parts of the country, a functionar­y said.
