Song in praise of Yogi government all the rage

-

MUZAFFARNAGAR: If kanwarias march on the roads, music cannot be far behind.

These ardent devotees of Lord Shiva who undertake an arduous trek to fetch Ganga jal from far off places to offer to the deity in their respective cities, inevitably have devotional soundtracks in the background, to keep their spirits up.

Apart from the various songs in praise of Lord Shiva, a song dedicated to the Yogi Adityanath government in the state has become all the rage among the kanwarias.

The song is not only played on music systems and DJ fixed on group kanwars, but also in most kanwar camps. Everywhere kanwarias are seen dancing to this song ‘ DJ bajwa diya Yogi ne, Bhole nachwa diye Yogi ne’.

The 2.40 minute song is in the voice of a Haryanavi singer. It not only praises the law and order situation in the state under the Yogi government (‘Gunde Marwa Diya Yogi ne, rang jama diye Yogi ne’) but also targets the previous state government .

To recall, the former SP government had banned bhajans and devotional songs using DJs and music system on group kanwars. Member of a group kanwar Ravi Yadav, who is going to New Delhi from Haridwar with a group of kanwarias, said,

“Two year ago DJ system of my group kanwar had been seized by the police causing loss of about rs 1.5 lakh. Now the Yogi government has lifted this ban so this song became highly popular among the kanwarias as they are enjoying the journey a lot with music systems.” The lyricist has also praised Yogi’s policy to ensure women’s security and strict action against criminals in the state. The song also talks of his success in politics in the coming future.

Meanwhile, with four days left for the festival of Shivratri, excessive rush of kanwarias is now passing through the district.

Although there is a continuous stream of kanwarias right from Haridwar to Muzaffarnagar, since the past two days, a numbers of groups kanwars equipped with musical system and DJ are also passing through Shiv Chowk in the city.
