MEERUT: Senior leaders of the BJP would share the formula of converting the challenge of the opposition’s ‘grand alliance’ into an opportunity for the party in 2019 elections by seeking 51% share of the total votes.

huge gathering at the auditorioum of Subharti on Delhi bypass.

The meeting would conclude on Sunday with the address of party president Amit Shah.

The BJP’s youth wing has been given the responsibility to give a rousing welcome to both party leaders on their arrival.

UP has always been crucial for BJP and it has become more important after the ‘grand alliance’ of the opposition. The defeat in Kairana and Noorpur bypolls has made party strategists more aggressive who don’t want to take any chances in the 2019 elections.

BJP’s west UP president Ashwini Tyagi said: “As per the directions of national president Amit Shah, our task would be to transform the challenge of ‘grand alliance’ of the opposition into an opportunity by seeking 51% of the total votes, which is not very difficult.”

He said Kairana and Noorpur were favourable for the experiments of the ‘grand alliance’, but similar results cannot be ensured on every seat.

Tyagi explained that despite the ‘grand alliance,’ the BJP secured more votes than the opposition in Shamli and Kairana constituencies and only lost in Thanabhawan constituency of Kairana LS seat.

He, however, made no bones in admitting that the defeat in Gangoh and Nakud constituencies was the fallout of their ignorance to a local outfit like Bhim Army.

Western UP has 14 Lok Sabha and 71 assembly seats and the party doesn’t want to take any chances in the prevailing political scenario.

The campaign for the 2019 election would be launched from September 2 and the focus would be on securing 51% votes.

Senior leaders Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah would share the blueprint for achieving this target during marathon meetings with party leaders who would share it further with grassroots level workers of the party.
