Enjoy music, Ganga Aarti onboard cruise in Kashi

VARANASI: People can enjoy classical Banarsi music, watch sunrise and world famous Ganga Aarti while on a cruise on the Ganga at Varanasi from August 15 onwards. Luxury cruise Alaknanda reached Varanasi from Kolkata, completing a journey of 1400 km, on Wednesday.

Come Independen­ce Day and it is all set to pick tourists from the Assi Ghat and take them up to Panchganga Ghat before dropping them to the Assi Ghat—a to and fro of around 14 kilometres.

Giving this informatio­n, cruise manager Vivek Malviya said, “Alaknanda has two decks. It is equipped with all facilities. The cruise service will be formally inaugurate­d on August 15. Thereafter, we will provide cruise service to people regularly. The cruise has to have live performanc­e of classical music of Banaras Gharana like Thumari, Chaiti, Kajari, Dadra, and Jhula for the tourists onboard.”

“In the morning, the tourists onboard the cruise will enjoy a view of the rising sun, commonly known as Subah-e-Banaras, and catch the glimpses of the ghats. In the evening, the tourists will enjoy famous Ganga Aarti,” Malviya added.

Malviya added that the ground level of the two-floor luxury cruise is air-conditione­d. From the side open second-floor deck, tourists may enjoy lunch and dinner while watchi the ghats.

REASONABLE COST

He said the trip to visit Chunar fort and Markandey Mahadev temple, Kaithi, will also be available with onboard vegetarian buffet lunch. In spare time, the facility for party is also available.
