ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s anti-corruption watchdog has ordered an inquiry into a viral video that shows a young woman doing her version of the “Kiki challenge” dance inside a Pakistan International Airlines aircraft and on the tarmac of Karachi airport.

After the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took action, it emerged that the woman in the video is Polish travel blogger Eva zu Beck, who is a guest of the national airline and is doing a series of video blogs on Pakistan.

In the video, which was initially tweeted by PIA, the blogger is seen clad in a green and while shalwar suit with a Pakistani flag draped around her.

After the video went viral, NAB chairman Javed Iqbal called for action to be taken against the CEO of PIA for alleged abuse of authority. He questioned how a foreign woman managed to enter the runway and the aircraft and “desecrate” the Pakistani flag.

The national flag carrier, however, disowned the video, saying an inquiry will be conducted to ascertain how the foreigner was allowed to make the video.

Eva u Beck said she was doing a video blog with PIA on travelling to Karachi when someone suggested she do a Kiki challenge video. She said she had received mainly positive messages. “But I want to apologise if anyone is hurt by my actions,” she said.
