LUCKNOW : The UP Special Task Force (STF) on Friday arrested another assistant teacher from Ambedkarnagar for allegedly using the documents of another person to get a government job, an STF official said.

The arrest of Ramanand alias Rampratap comes a day after his younger brother Shatrughan was arrested on Thursday from Sitapur, where he was working as an assistant teacher after allegedly getting the job on forged documents too.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Special Task Force, Abhishek Singh said the arrest of the brothers was suspected to be the tip of the iceberg and further investigation may reveal a major racket in providing government jobs to ineligible candidates by using forged documents.

He said the key person in this racket was one Saheb Ram Tewari, who had helped the two brothers in getting jobs of assistant teachers on forged identity using educational certificates of another person.

He said Tewari’s arrest will help in unravelling the entire nexus as he would be having crucial information. He, however, added that many more people were on the STF radar and more arrests were likely from all across the state soon.

brother Shatrughan, who was arrested on Thursday. He said Ramanand was working as an assistant teacher on the forged identity of a Gorakhpur resident Deepak Kumar Singh.

He said Ramanand used the educational certificates of Deepak Kumar Singh and was inducted in the basic education department in 2009. He was posted as principal of Bairampur primary school in the Tanda area of Ambedkarnagar.

The SSP said Ramanand’s brother Shatrughan also used documents of another person, identified as Anil Kumar Yadav and his documents of high school, intermediate and other higher studies in 2009. He said Shatrughan was working on the forged identity of Anil Kumar Yadav since 2009 and was presently posted as assistant teacher at Supauli primary school in Sitapur. Anil Kumar Yadav was also an assistant teacher and posted as principal of Dharampur Campierganj primary school in Gorakhpur since 2007.

Inspector of STF Vijendra Sharma said the two suspects exploited the loopholes in verifying the details of candidates by the department.
