Cops arrest 3 persons, recover 215 boxes of oxytocin injections

DURING A RAID AT A SHOP IN MOTI NAGAR, COPS RECOVERED 135 BOXES OF OXYTOCIN INJECTIONS

LUCKNOW : Cops arrested three persons on Monday and recovered large quantity of banned oxytocin injections from their possession here on Monday.

Two persons were arrested along with the banned injections during the vehicle checking drive at the busy Naka crossing while one person was arrested from Alambagh, who is the supplier of injections.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Ibrar, Mohammad Wasim, both residents of Sultanpur and Rishi Agarwal, proprietor of Maa General store, Motinagar, the supplier of injections.

Cops recovered 215 boxes of oxytocin injections and each box had 100 ampoules.

According to cops, Naka police was carrying out vehicle checking drive at Naka crossing on Monday when they spotted two persons at the busy crossing with large bags walking suspicious­ly.

Cops stopped both of them and on checking their bags, 80 boxes of oxytocin injections were found.

“When we inquired about the source of these injections from the two arrested youths, they revealed the supplier’s name as Rishi Agarwal of Motinagar,” said Ranjeet Kumar Singh, senior sub inspector, Naka police station.

“During raid at Rishi Agarwal’s shop at Motinagar, we recovered 135 boxes of oxytocin injections,” added Singh.

It may be pointed out that oxytocin injections are banned in the country. They are used by dairy owners for enhancing milk yield of cows.
