from permissible limit.
It may be pointed out that the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has also taken serious note of ongoing constructions activities in this VIP zone.
Hearing a PIL on August 18 related with construction of a hotel at Vikramaditya Marg, the high court stayed the construction work. The court also directed the estate officer, vice chairman, LDA, and municipal commissioner, Lucknow Municipal Corporation to produce photographs of the alleged ongoing construction work on Vikramaditya Marg.
“This VIP zone caters to the residences of chief minister, the chief secretary, the chairman, board of revenue, judges of the high court, cabinet ministers, ministers and very senior IAS officers. If such activities are permitted in this VIP zone apparently it cannot be said that it would be safe and secure, nor would the life of the residents of the area be peaceful,” observed the court.
