Ashes immersion at 13 places today

LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath handed over on Friday 16 urns carrying ashes of late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to as many office bearers of the BJP at the party office here on Friday. Out of these 16 urns, three were immersed on Friday and remaining 13 will be immersed on Saturday.

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath handed over on Friday 16 urns carrying ashes of late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to as many office bearers of the BJP at the party office here on Friday. These ashes will be immersed in prominent rivers across the state flowing through these 16 regions. Along with the CM, state BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey, deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, state general secretary (organisati­on) Sunil Bansal and others were present.

Out of these 16 urns, three were immersed on Friday and remaining 13 will be immersed on Saturday. BJP has made elaborate plans to make the immersion a grand affair across Uttar Pradesh. For this event, union ministers, senior party leaders and ministers in the state government will be present in their respective regions on Saturday. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will be present in Gorakhpur, state BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey will be present in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituen­cy Varanasi and Union minister Uma Bharti along with cabinet minister in the state government Satish Mahana will be present in Jhansi. Apart from this, deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will be present in Allahabad, union ministers Santosh Gangwar in Barelli, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti in Chitrakoot, Manoj Sinha in Azamgarh and Mahesh Sharma in Moradabad among others. Ministers in the Yogi government will also accompany the union ministers. In Kanpur, Balrampur and Ayodhya ashes were immersed on Friday.
