LUCKNOW : Long-time friends turned foes in a dispute over possession of a Laborador when a woman lodged an FIR against two persons with the PGI police for not returning her dog, which her daughter loved “very much”.

The complainant, Rashmi Sharma, stated that her six-yearold daughter Peehu had become ill as she was unable to meet her dog. She said her daughter will recover if she is reunited with the dog. Sharma said she handed over the dog, named ‘Tashu’, to her father PC Tripathi’s close family friend and neighbour Anoop Srivastava in Eldeco Udyan II three years ago when she had to move to Gurugram to be her in-laws house as her father was not capable to take care of the dog due to his old age.

She said she often visited Srivastava’s house to see her dog but two weeks back when she wanted it back he refused to return it.

She is “camping” at her father’s house for the last fortnight to take the dog’s possession.

SP North Vikrant Vir said an FIR under IPC section 406 for criminal breach of trust and 507 for criminal intimidation over phone has been registered against Srivastava and another person and further probe is on in the matter.

Srivastava, however, rejected the allegation and said he had purchased the dog from Tripathi as he was unable to take care of the pet. He said he took good care of the dog all these years and now Tripathi and his daughter are demanding it back. He said they have threatened him with dire consequences.

Srivastava added that he had submitted an application against Tripathi with the PGI police station in this matter on August 20.
