Left out candidates also get allotment

ALLAHABAD : In a major relief to hundreds of qualified candidates first declared successful in the recruitmen­t process for filling 68,500 vacant posts of assistant teachers in government-run primary schools but later left out of the district allotment list, the Basic Shiksha Parishad, UP, on Sunday issued another list allotting districts to 6127 of these candidates.

The Basic Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh in its first district allotment list issued on August 31 had allotted districts to 34,660 candidates out of 41,556 declared successful in the written exam for the selection held by Exam Regulatory Authority, UP.

The candidates left out of the allotment list immediatel­y began an agitation.

Even as their counterpar­ts who were allotted districts the first list began attending the counsellin­g before school allotments, these hundreds of dejected candidates went to Lucknow to stage a protest at SCERT office in Nishatganj as SCERT director holds the charge of secretary, Basic Shiksha Parishad, UP also.

Meanwhile, the chief minister intervened on the issue and within 48 hours the second list containing district allotment of 6127 candidate got issued.

As a result, so far 40,787 candidates have found place on the district allotment lists.The government or the department officials have not cited any reason why such large numbers of candidate were left out of the first list.

Secretary, Basic Shiksha Parishad, UP Sanjay Singh said as part of the assistant teacher recruitmen­t process, second district allotment list of 6127 candidates has been uploaded on the parishad’s official website.

“The counsellin­g of these candidates will take place on September 3 and September 4 in districts allotted to them and they should ensure their presence along with their documents, he added.
