MILAN: Cristiano Ronaldo was left waiting for his first Juventus goal after drawing another blank as the titleholders won 2-1 at Parma in Serie A on Saturday to maintain their perfect record.

An early Mario Mandzukic goal and a second-half strike from Blaise Matuidi gave Juve their third win in as many league games, although Ronaldo was left without a goal in his first 270 minutes with the club. Ivorian forward Gervinho scored in between for Parma, his first goal since joining them this summer.

“(Ronaldo) has to deal with different difficulties in Serie A but he had a good game overall,” said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

SON OUTSHINES FATHER

MILAN:Despite his father’s initial struggles with Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is having no problem finding the net as he demonstrated in his debut for the Turin club’s under-9 team.

Wearing the number 7 of his famous dad, eight-year-old Ronaldo Jr scored a brace in either half in a 5-1 win against Lucento, watched by Ronaldo’s partner Georgina, according to media reports in Italy on Sunday.

CITY BEAT NEWCASTLE

MANCHESTER: A powerful longrange strike from Kyle Walker gave champions Manchester City a 2-1 win over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Walker’s 52nd minute strike, from over 25 yards out, was his first goal for City and came after Newcastle had fought back to go in level at the break.

City took the lead in the eighth minute through a Raheem Sterling strike before full-back DeAndre Yedlin equalised in the 30th minute for Newcastle.
