ALLAHABAD : The Colonelganj police have registered a named FIR against a student leader of Allahabad University, Avinash Dubey, for trying to malign the image of vice-chancellor Ratan Lal Hangloo. The FIR has been lodged under section 65/66 of the IT Act on a complaint submitted by registrar NK Shukla on Thursday night.Dubey, a couple of days back, had posted pictures showing an alleged WhatsApp chat history between the VC and a woman from Delhi. The picture shows the mobile number of the VC, which the university claims has been lost six months back, and the chatting with a woman where he is promising her a job. The chat also had certain intimate comments. AU officials termed it as an attempt to tarnish the image of the VC by Dubey just because he was denied admission to pursue a second MA degree recently. The Allahaabd University Teachers’ Association (AUTA) has also written a letter to UP DGP demanding action against Dubey saying that this irresponsible act should be severely dealt. “The act of the student leader is a futile attempt to tarnish image of the VC out of rage as AU has denied him admission for pursuing double MA,” said AU PRO and dean students’ welfare (DSW) Prof Harsh Kumar.
