‘Six months to normalise traffic on Aishbagh flyover’
LUCKNOW: It will take at least six months to repair the Aishbagh flyover near Naka Hindola.
PWD Executive engineer Jai Singh Maurya said, “It will take at least six months for regular traffic and heavy vehicles to ply on the flyover. The bridge will be repaired under the supervision of Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) experts. They are preparing the estimate for the repair. Their experts will come again to start work near Pier number 3.”
The team of CRRI will conduct some more tests before beginning repair work.
Maurya said, “Earlier, the CRRI has repaired the flyover on Fiazabad road where traffic was stopped for over a year.”
The CRRI team was led by chief scientist Dr Lakshmi Parmeshwaran, senior scientist Dr Rajeev Goyal.

and Sanjay Gupta recommended stopping heavy vehicular traffic on the flyover as its structural strength had been compromised and any sort of heavy traffic would further damage the flyover.”
However, the district administration is planning to check the structural strength of all the existing flyovers in the city.
An official of PWD said the structural strength of some of the bridges and flyovers need looking into. Checking of structural strength of constructions often saves lives and prevents flyovers from crumbling.
