ALLAHABAD : Stating that likely alliance of several political parties to form a joint opposition against the BJP was indicative of the strength of the ruling party, UP health minister Sidharth Nath Singh said the next year’s Lok Sabha polls will be about ‘Modi chemistry and public’.

Talking to HT, the minister also said in UP the BJP will bag at least 75 seats in the 2019 general election. He added that across India the party will emerge victorious at over 300 seats.

“There must have been something good in Prime Minister Narendra Modi that a crumbling opposition was trying everything to unite. The BJP must have done something good that has made the masses make it rule in a never before 19 states of the country, Singh said. “Do you expect these political parties trying to unite against the BJP to serve masses despite their deeds having been exposed in the past,” he said.

On the Congress party, the Uttar Pradesh government’s spokesperson said, “Its leaders tell absolute lies. They are completely irrelevant in UP and have no place in forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. A classic example of their sheer lies to defame the BJP led government is their recent claim that not a single rupee was spent by the government in UP under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. At least they should check facts before speaking. We spent Rs 200 crore in past over one year period on 8 lakh women,” he said.

Referring to the Kumbh 2019, Singh said, “This will be a historical never before experience for people with a significant 12 to 15 crore footfall at the Sangam. It will be one-of-a-kind Swachh Kumbh wherein 1,22,500 toilets will be constructed. Plus 35 hospitals with around 750 beds and 2150 doctors will be made available for the mega fair,” he added.
