LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) was able to give relief to only two out of 85 persons who turned up for the Pradhikaran Diwas on Thursday.

The development authority, however, assured the remaining complainants that their problems will be resolved within due course of time.

The LDA organises Pradhikaran Diwas on every third Thursday of the month to address the problems of homebuyers.

On Thursday, 85 people turned up at the event in the hope of finding a solution to their problems.

“Pending complaints will be resolved soon. All officials concerned have been instructed to expedite pending complaints,” LDA vice-chairman PN Singh said.

Several complaints also related to illegal occupation of the LDA’s properties whereas genuine allottees were running from pillar to post to get possession of their properties.

The development authority’s properties are in illegal possession in several parts of the city, including Napier Road colony, Kapoorthala complex, Pandey Ka Talab, Balda Road colony, Lal Kuan, Paper Mill Colony, Akbari Gate, Tilak Nagar, Chowk, Billochpura, Lawrence Terrace, Aishbagh and Hata Khuda Baksh among others.

The LDA is also taking action against illegal restaurants and hotels running from residential places in Gomti Nagar and other parts of the city.

It has identified more than 100 such illegal restaurants and hotels that are being run from residential premises instead of commercial ones.

Of late, the development authority has been flooded with complaints relating to restaurants running from residential premises.

Most of these complaints were from Gomti Nagar.
