131fthigh national flag unfurled in Muzaffarnagar
MUZAFFARNAGAR : Central Textile Minister Smiriti Irani unfurled a 131-feet high national flag at the Government Inter College ground in Muzaffarnagar, on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi. Irani said that the national flag is a symbol of prestige and reminds us about the sacrifice of freedom fighters during the independence struggle.
On a suggestion of social organisation ‘Samarpit Yuva’ the initiative for unfurling a 131-feet high national flag was taken by MP and former Union State Minister for water resources, Sanjeev Baliyan. After discussions with DM Rajeev Sharma and zila panchayat chiarman Aanchal Tomar, the GIC ground was finalised as the place for the installation of the flag. Today, amidst a big gathering, Irani dedicated the 131-feet high national flag to society by hoisting it on the occasion of Gandi Jayanti. The flag was hoisted with the help of a remote device and it was carried to the hoisting pole by Army personnel.
Irani said that the national flag was the symbol of our glory. She praised the efforts of the social organisation ‘Samarpit Yuva’ and MP Sanjeev Baliyan for efforts in hoisting the 131-high flag. By hoisting this flag, youths and the residents have shown their ‘Rashtra Neeti’ in place of Rajneeti and with the deep sense of patriotism, our young generation will defeat forces trying to divide our society,” Irani said.
