Cases of anarchy at univs a matter of concern: Yogi
GORAKHPUR : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said increasing incidents of anarchy in universities were a cause for concern.
Speaking at a Pratibha Samman Samaroh at the Gorakhpur Club, the CM said, “The youth are being led by the wrong people who promote separatism.”
Yogi further said the youth had immense energy and the need was to use it positively. The CM was the chief guest of the programme presided over by former vice chancellor of the Faizabad University Ram Achal Singh.
“It disturbs me when I see that those who conspire become heroes. I get worried when those who raise slogans about dividing India become heroes... However, the ABVP is capable of giving a befitting reply to such efforts and for the last 70 years it has motivated the youth for nation building with its positive efforts,” he said.
The CM appealed to the youth build a capable India with their hard work.
“Government is with you and will cooperate at all levels, build capable India with your hard work. Youth should give at least 1-2 years to the society after getting education from government institution with nominal fees but sadly social service is not priority among the youth,” he said.
Hailing the UP government’s effort toward cleanliness, Yogi said over 46 lakh toilets had been already constructed in the state. “Dirt is the mother of diseases and due to cleanliness campaign the number of encephalitis cases decreased this year,” he said.
Later, the CM conducted a surprise inspection of two government-run primary schools in Gorakhpur on the last day of his two-day visit to the city on Thursday.
Senior officials, including Gorakhpur DM Vijyendra Pandian, accompanied the chief minister during the inspection. After leaving Gorakhpur Club where the chief minister facilitated meritorious students at an event organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the CM’s cavalcade stopped suddenly at a primary school close to Gorakhnath Temple.
At the school, Yogi asked some students to read out chapters and also advised them to do hard work for achieving success in life. He chose students randomly checking their bags, books and study material. He also inspected class rooms, checked fans and availability of drinking water.
The CM also spoke to teachers. Later, he also inspected another primary school in Muhaddipur area.
