PM to write to health scheme beneficiaries
LUCKNOW: Beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Abhiyan (PMJAY) will receive a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi informing them about the benefits of the health scheme. The minister in-charge and MLAs will distribute the letter during a programme organised in each district.
Health minister Siddharth Nath Singh on Thursday said that the list of the beneficiaries has been prepared in 16 districts. He was speaking at a meeting organised in the office of State Agency for Comprehensive Health Insurance to review the progress of the scheme. District magistrates have been directed to coordinate with the minister in-charge for the organisation of the programme for the distribution of the PM’s letter, he said.
The programme will be organised at the district headquarters as well as at the block level. A person can find out if he is eligible for the scheme by visiting the PMJAY website, from the ‘arogya mitra’ posted at hospitals registered under the scheme, or by visiting the community service centers. Singh directed the officers to enroll more beneficiaries under the scheme. The central government has launched a helpline for the beneficiaries. Soon, the state government will set up a call centre, he said. Principal secretary health Prashant Trivedi was present during the meeting.
