LUCKNOW: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday analysed the CCTV camera footage collected from three different places, trying to connect the timeline to get a clear picture of the sequence of events in Apple executive Vivek Tiwari murder case.

Inspector general (IG) of police, Lucknow range, Sujeet Pandey, who is heading the SIT, said the footage was very crucial in establishing the sequence of events and locating the real trigger point behind the incident. “The SIT members are minutely analysing the footage and have prepared a time log of every movement visible in the footage. The footage from at least two such cameras shows Vivek’s SUV moving slowly towards the crime spot moments before the incident,” he added.

He said the sequence of events pieced together after analysing the video footage would be matched with the statement of the lone eyewitness Sana Khan and the two accused constables Prashant Chaudhary and Sandip Kumar. He said the eyewitness and the two constables were cross -questioned to clarify if there was any contradiction in their statements and the sequence of events.

Six separate SIT teams were collecting each and every minute detail before reaching a final conclusion, the IG said , adding that one team visited the Lucknow district jail again on Friday to further record the statements of the two accused. The team had questioned the constables in jail on Thursday too and got recorded the statement of the eyewitness Sana Khan before the court.

Meanwhile, derogatory posts about the media and senior police officials, as well as vulgar posts trying to malign the image of slain Apple executive Vivek Tiwari, his ex-colleague (lone eyewitness of the murder) and his wife being circulated on social media have fanned constables’ resentment. In the absence of initial response from the top brass, the murmurs have turned into cries that reflected in the form of constables’ protest on Friday.

To recall, Apple executive Vivek Tiwari was shot dead in Gomtinagar extension when he was going to drop his ex-colleague Sana Khan in his SUV, at around 1.30 am on Friday/ Saturday night. Sana had told police and media persons that Vivek was shot dead when the two constables Chaudhary and Sandip Kumar intercepted their vehicle. She said Chaudhary opened fire with his service pistol when Vivek tried to move on, fearing that the constables might misbehave with her.
