UP police to approach MEA regarding missing man
LUCKNOW: The UP Police will approach Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to expedite investigation in the case of missing 63-year-old goldsmith from Madiaon on September 28.
“We will ask the MEA to contact authorities in Nepal, where the missing Kishori Lal Soni, a resident of Madiaon, is reportedly lodged in prison,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani.
The facts of the case are: a missing person’s complaint was lodged at the Madiaon police station on September 29 and while the police teams were trying to search for Soni, a phone call, allegedly from Nepal, was received at Soni’s residence. “The person on the other end told Soni’s wife that Kishori Lal is being sent to prison for his involvement in a murder case,” said the SSP.
Soni married his daughter into a family in Nepal, in 2004. Two years later, five of the family, including Soni’s daughter, were murdered. The investigating team of Nepal police made Soni an accused in the case and showed Soni arrested from Nepalganj area of Nepal on September 29.
This disclosure by Nepal police the day after Soni was reported missing, led to a supposition that a team of Nepali police kidnapped Soni from Lucknow, took him to Nepal and showed his arrest there. A video footage of a CCTV camera showed men in plain clothes forcing him into a white car. “We have intimated officials to track the car shown in the video,” the SSP said.
