Administra­tion on toes after 3 Musahar men die in Kushinagar

GORAKHPUR : The death of three members of rat-eating Musahar community in three separate villages of Dudhi block in Kushinagar district has put district administra­tion officials on their toes.

After the news spread, Kushinagar district magistrate Anil Kumar Singh and other officials visited the villages to meet the bereaved families.

The DM also directed the officials concerned to ensure basic facilities in the villages.

of the third person was sent for post-mortem examinatio­n as his death occurred under suspicious conditions. Jagdish (35), son of Jagdish of Kubera Bhual area, was ill for the last many months and died due to lack of proper medical treatment.

He is survived by his wife and six children. The DM met Jagdish’s wife Radhika Devi and gave her Rs 10,000 as compensati­on.

In Thadhibhar village, Sing- hasan, son of Munnar Mushar, reportedly died of illness.

Officials said Teras Mushar, 32, a resident of Bansgaon, died under suspicious condition. Local residents claimed that he died after consuming some poisonous substance following a family dispute.On Tuesday, the DM met Teras’s wife Mansha Devi. The DM said directions had been issued to ensure that the benefits of all the schemes reached Musahar community.

He asked the officials to install a hand pump, provide electricit­y connection­s and ensure roads in the area. A health camp was organised in the block in which medical checkup of 60 people was conducted.
