AKTU to dispatch degrees to students by speed post: Guv
LUCKNOW: UP governor Ram Naik on Friday said that by holding convocation ceremonies early, universities could ensure that graduating students get all important documents in time for admission to higher education institutions.
“For admission, mark sheets are not enough in some institutions across the world. There were several instances when admission seekers had to run from pillar to post to get their degrees and certificates. By holding convocation ceremonies early, we are ensuring students get all important documents on time,” said Naik.
Last year, AKTU’s convocation was held on December 12, 2017.
Presiding over the 16th convocation of AKTU, Naik said AKTU will dispatch all the 61,000 degrees to its graduating students by speed post, saving them the hassle of collecting it from the varsity.
The degrees will reach every student in two days’ time, he added.
“I am happy to note that exams are conducted on time at AKTU and other state universities,” he said.
The governor expressed pleasure over the fact that AKTU’s academic session went off peacefully and there was no

“This is a good sign for any academic institution,” he emphasised.
A special guest at the event, technical education minister Ashutosh Tandon said the state government was determined to help technical institutes excel. AKTU vice-chancellor Vinay Kumar Pathak said this is for the first time the university introduced a new practice of felicitating one of its old pupils.
This year, they honoured Srijan Pal Singh, a close aide of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
