67 MEDALS, 61,000 DEGREES CONFERRED ON STUDENTS

LUCKNOW : As many as 67 medals and 61,000 degrees were conferred on students of 675 engineerin­g and management colleges affiliated to the AKTU on Friday.

Preeti Gupta bagged the coveted Chancellor’s Medal. A graduate in computer science from Ajay Kumar Garg Engineerin­g College, Ghaziabad, she is currently working with HCL. “After gaining some work experience, I want to pursue M Tech and PhD before joining the teaching profession,” she said. A resident of Kanpur, her father Brij Kishore is a civil engineer and mother Champa Gupta a housewife.

FARMER’S SON EXCELS

A native of Bahraich, Prince Babu Mishra received the silver medal in B Tech civil engineerin­g. His father Suresh Chand is a farmer.

As income from farming is not enough, his father runs a tent shop too.

Prince said he wants to become an IAS and is preparing for the civil services exams.

MEDAL WINNER’S AIM

Sushant Mishra won bronze medal at the AKTU convocatio­n for doing well in B Tech (Agricultur­e). A resident of Sitapur, his father, Rajpal Mishra is a farmer and is the lone bread earner in the family.

Sushant said he would try to integrate technology in farming so that farmers get value for their money and hard work.
