Guj firm to design KV corridor project

VARANASI: : Ahmedabad-based HCP Design, Planning and Management will draw a design of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Vishwanath Corridor project. It will also draw a plan on how to give it a concrete shape within the deadline.

Singh confirmed the developmen­t.

He said HCP Design will prepare the design of the project keeping in view the heritage of Kashi and importance of its lanes.

He said that the company will also select the contractor­s for constructi­on, beautifica­tion of

the facilities in the lanes and rejuvenati­on of the temples in the special area. The company has been asked to start work as soon as possible. He said that the company will begin the project within a week to draw the concept plan. It has a team of well-trained architects and technician­s.

Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project is a plan of the centre for ensuring world-class facilities in the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Special area while keeping the essence of the lanes intact. During his recent visit to Kashi, PM Modi watched the presentati­on about the progress of the project.

The state government, led by chief minister Yogi Adityanath, constitute­d the board to ensure speedy completion of the project. Land acquisitio­n is in progress and so far, 66 percent of the total land to be acquired for the project has already been purchased.
