-

MUZAFFARNAGAR : Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma said here on Friday that the government had started the process to fill up vacant posts in secondary education institutions and efforts were on to fill 1,000 vacancies in higher educational institutions too.

“We want to give permanent jobs to youths in the state by accelerating the recruitment process in various departments,” he said. Sharma, who was here to participate in a condolence meeting for ex-MP Malti Sharma, told media persons that there had been significant improvement in secondary and higher education in the state during the Yogi government’s regime.

He also asserted that UP Board examinations in the coming session would be fair and peaceful once again. Talking about educational reforms, Sharma said, “After implementing the NCERT syllabus in UP Board, we have issued an educational calendar to monitor the teaching-learning process in secondary education so that the syllabus of different subjects is covered by the teachers in the given time before the examinations in February 2019.”

He said to maintain the transparency and sanctity of UP Board examinations, CCTV cameras had already been clamped in different schools and the government was determined to conduct fair High School and Intermediate exams. “A committee comprising the DIoS and other education officials would be formed under the district magistrate to decide the examination centres and CCTV cameras would be installed in all rooms of the centres,” he said. To check the fee structure in private schools , the government had introduced a law which restricted privately managed institutions from realising extra money from students in the name of fees, he said.

Earlier, Sharma held a short meeting with education officials at the PWD guest house and directed them to inspect the teaching-learning process.

He also met prominent BJP leaders and social activists. Some ‘ Bhojan Mata’ (women deputed to prepare mid day meal in schools) demanding increase in their remuneration.
