Constable commits suicide in Hardoi, motive not clear yet
LUCKNOW: A constable posted at the police lines in Hardoi committed suicide in his barrack on Saturday, police officials said. Sandeep Yadav, 25 was found hanging in the morning.
Superintendent of Police(SP), Hardoi, Alok Priyadarshi said, “The constable was allotted a two-bed barrack that he shared with another constable. The other constable had gone for night duty when Yadav hanged himself.”
“No suicide note was recovered from near his body,” the officer added.“The motive behind the suicide is not clear yet. Constables posted nearby informed me that he behaved normally last night and even had dinner with them,” said the SP.

Yadav joined the force under the dependent quota in 2012 after his father’s death. He was married and had two daughters.
His elder brother is also a constable, posted in the same police lines. The elder brother reportedly tried to call him in the morning and reached Yadav’s barrack when he failed to answer the phone after repeated attempts. “The brother, who is a 2006 batch constable, called others when he found the room closed from inside. They found Yadav hanging when the room was opened.”
Yadav’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination and officials have assured an investigation into the matter. Officials have also assured to register a case in the matter as per complaint submitted by his elder brother.
Earlier, a woman police constable posted in Babarabanki committed suicide on September 29. The woman constable accused his seniors officials of harassment that forced her to take the extreme step in a suicide note recovered near his body.
