WOMAN JUMPS FROM 11TH FLOOR AFTER SPAT WITH HUSBAND, DIES

LUCKNOW: A 38-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping from her apartment on the 11th floor of a residential complex in Gomti Nagar here on Monday evening. “The deceased has been identified as Suniti Chauhan, wife of Alok Chauhan. She was found dead on the residential complex in the evening. The family members have claimed that she committed suicide,” said DP Tiwari, SHO, Gomti Nagar.

LUCKNOW : A 38-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping from her apartment on the 11th floor of a residential complex in Gomti Nagar here on Monday evening.

Station house officer (SHO) of Gomti Nagar police station, DP Tiwari confirmed the incident and said, “The deceased has been identified as Suniti Chauhan, wife of Alok Chauhan. She was found dead on the residential complex in the evening. The family members have claimed that she committed suicide. We have recovered the dead body and sent it for post-mortem examination.”

As per police sources, the couple used to argue often. Suniti jumped from the balcony of her apartment following a verbal spat with her husband. She died on the spot due to the impact of the fall.

After getting the information, a team of local police reached the spot.

“We have recorded the statements of her husband and her two children, aged six and 14. A forensics team has also been called to collect the evidences,” said the SHO.

No formal complaint was lodged with the police regarding the incident till this report was filed.

“We are waiting for the relatives of the woman to arrive. We will lodge an FIR if any of her family members submit a complaint,” said the SHO.
