LUCKNOW:An alleged controversy marked the opening of the Cricket Association Lucknow’s D division league here on Monday. Out of two matches slated on day one, ASCA Hostel defeated Grace Cricket Academy by 76 runs in the first match, whereas the second match couldn’t start due to some confusion.

One of the teams in the second match even after refusing to play on the first day in advance, reached the ground to play the match.

The other team, as expected, wasn’t there s the tie had already been cancelled.

This isn’t all as some clubs have lodged written complaints to the authorities concerned about the ‘back door’ entry of a few selected clubs in the B division league. An enquiry has reportedly been ordered in this case.
