I HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN THE LAW OF THE LAND: YADAV
ETAH: UP legislative council chairman Ramesh Yadav said he could not comment on his son Abhijit’s death case as the police were probing the matter.
“I have complete faith in the law of the land... who so ever is guilty will be punished. I would not comment on the issue as the police are investigating the matter,” stated Yadav while interacting with media at his residence in Etah on Tuesday.
When asked about Meera Yadav’s changing statements, he said: “How could I know about all this as I have not met her for long. I had been in Etah after having a bypass surgery and had gone to Lucknow only for the budget session being the chairman of the legislative council.”
“I remained there for an hour to preside over question hour and had sought assistance for conduct of house. Thereafter, I never visited Lucknow,” he stated.
The Lucknow police had arrested Meera Yadav, second wife of UP legislative council chairman, on Monday for allegedly murdering her younger son Abhijit after a late night argument on Saturday.
Meera had initially informed the police that Abhijit died of ill health but the post-mortem examination on Sunday evening confirmed strangulation as the cause of death.
Based on the findings, an FIR of murder was lodged at Hazratganj police station and a team headed by the SP began investigation.
