Self-styled chief of ‘UP Police Assn’ held for provoking cops
AGRA: Subodh Yadav, a constable terminated from service in 2011, was arrested from Gola Bazaar area in Mainpuri for allegedly instigating cops in UP through messages on social sites.
Yadav, a self-styled president of ‘UP Police Association’, had posted messages to provoke cops after Apple executive Vivek Tiwari was allegedly shot dead by a cop on duty in Lucknow, said sources.
He was suspended and then terminated from service after he levelled corruption allegations against some senior police officials from the stage of Anna Hazare’s campaign in Delhi in 2011.
“Subodh Yadav claimed to be president of self styled UP Police Association and had been found involved in passing on messages on social sites to provoke cops in state police. Thus a case was registered against him and he was arrested,” informed Ajay

His wife is deputed at the office of SP Mainpuri but was not found to be involved in this and thus no action was taken against her, said police.
“Subodh Yadav belongs to Vidhuna town in Auraiya district but had shifted to Etawah. His wife is also in state police and currently living in Mainpuri. Subodh used to visit the city and was arrested here from Gola Bazar,” informed OP Singh, ASP, Mainpuri.
“The case was registered against Yadav under relevant sections of Information Technology Act for allegedly provoking and instigating cops in state police,” he added.
