‘BJP govt committed to create job opportunit­ies’

LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma said the BJP government was committed to create and provide employment opportunit­ies for the youth of Uttar Pradesh.

“The focus of youths should be on honing skills to get jobs of their choice. The government is putting in a lot of effort in empowering youth with skill and education that can help them to be successful in their lives,” he said while speaking at the closing ceremony of the three-day Rozgar Mela organised by the National Skill Developmen­t Corporatio­n (NSDC) at Jai Narain PG College (JNPG) in Lucknow.

Thousands of job seekers thronged the JNPG College premises to participat­e in a Skill India Rozgar Mela that concluded on Sunday.

Job fairs organised in various cities had been instrument­al in connecting thousands of youths to employers, said Sharma.

Billed as one of the largest job fairs in the state, the Rozgar Mela witnessed overwhelmi­ng participat­ion from nearly 80+ corporates and registered a footfall of over 15,000 skilled job aspirants.

The event was also attended by Rakesh Trivedi, state BJP vice-president; Bharat Dixit, member, state BJP office, UP; SD Sharma, principal, JNPG College and Jaikant Singh, senior head at the state engagement, National Skill Developmen­t Corporatio­n among others.

Organised by NSDC, Skill India’s Rozgar Mela gave an opportunit­y to job seekers of Lucknow to learn more about potential employers and various employment opportunit­ies available including entreprene­urship.

The event brought skilled candidates in direct contact with recruiters, HR managers, admission officers and advisory bodies/training providers.
