If saints give go ahead, temple construction will begin
PRAYAGRAJ:Ram
temple construction in Ayodhya could commence around March 18, the start of the Hindu New Year, if a consensus on the date is reached at the forthcoming Dharam Sansad set to be held during Kumbh Mela-2019, says one of Uttar Pradesh officebearers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) Ambreesh Singh while talking to Kenneth John.
Excerpts:
With the VHP chief announcing that saints during Dharam Sansad in Kumbh Mela would decide date of Ram temple construction, could it be around Hindu New Year in March 2019?
We have not given a time frame for commencement of construction of Ram temple. We have waited for the day patiently for the past 25 years and now the saints would take a final call during the Kumbh on it. If the saints decide so, we will go ahead with the construction.
Will VHP wait for the SC ruling even if saints in Dharam Sansad in Jan 2019 decide to commence temple construction?
We respect the Supreme Court and its decisions, and still seek decision at the earliest. However, we would follow the decision of saints if nothing concrete is achieved in the case.
VHP president Alok Kumar recently said that Hindus would not wait for eternity?
Yes, Hindus are in no mood to wait any longer. It has been over 25 years. Hindus have been waiting patiently for the court to decide. We put up the best legal brains to contest our case.
Do you blame Congress for delay in hearing of case?
Yes, seeking deferment of hearing of Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid case in Supreme Court by senior Congress leader Kapil
Sibbal till the Lok
Sabha elections
2019 was unfortunate.
