CM YOGI ADITYANATH TO RIDE MOBIKE AS BJP FIRMS UP VOTER CONNECT PROGRAMME

LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will ride a motorbike along with his ministerial colleagues on November 17 during the BJP’s mobike rally that will be taken out across all the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in UP.

This was decided at a meeting in which Yogi’s ministerial colleagues participated at the BJP headquarters on Monday. Former UP BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai’s presence along with ministers added to the buzz of him finding place in the next expansion of Yogi government.

The rally, to be followed by 15 day padyatra from December 1, is part of the several programmes for which the BJP’s organisational heads have asked the Yogi Adityanath government to help them whip up the momentum ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls in which BJP expects a stiff challenge from a united opposition.

The BJP is desperate to deflate the caste advantage that SP-BSP seek to enjoy in a state bitterly divided on caste lines. “We are connecting with various caste groups and at today’s meeting, BJP’s organisational heads told ministers of the need to sink differences and put up a united front,” a party leader said.

All the party cadres and ministers have been asked to jointly cover 150 kilometers on foot in each assembly segment, a party leader said adding that the party cadres would move in groups of 25 members each.

The padyatra or foot marches would start and culminate at fixed but yet-to-be-decided points. On January 26 BJP would connect with beneficiaries of various initiatives and schemes of the centre and the UP government.
