LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced that his government will hold the second groundbreaking ceremony for investors in December. This time, the ball will be set rolling for projects worth Rs 100,000 crore, he added. At the first groundbreaking ceremony in July, projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore were launched in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Adityanath said the move was an example of the state’s growing popularity among investors.

The chief minister was speaking at the Rail Park Investors’ meet at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan here on Tuesday. The state’s first rail park will come up in Fatehpur district alongside National Highway 335 at around a 25-minute run from the Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareli.

The chief minister hailed the Rail Park concept, saying it was a clear sign of how UP had started attracting investors.

“Investment in UP was no less than a dream for us. But it’s a reality now. We are going to organise another groundbreaking ceremony for Rs 100,000 crore in December. The step will surely take UP’s development to new heights,” said Adityanath.

The chief minister also inaugurated the logo and the model of the Rail Park that is said to be the state’s first ‘private industrial park’ being developed by ABA infra-tech Private Limited.

Unlike the previous regime, the state government was leaving no stone unturned in facilitating investors and entrepreneurs, he said.

“Our cabinet has decided to establish marketing cell in districts to promote indigenous goods prepared by the artisans under ‘One District One Product’ scheme. The move will help artisans in getting respectable remuneration for their hard work and labour,” he added.

He also announced the establishment of new airports in the state.

“Under the ‘Udaan yojna’, the state will get 11 airports to enhance connectivity. It includes one international airport in Kushinagar,” he said. He also announced the construction of medical colleges in the ‘backward’ districts of UP, including one in Fatehpur. Besides, he said the government was chalking out a road map for development in these districts.

Talking about the Rail Park concept, ABA Group chairman Ali Khan said, “It’s establishment is based on a tripod agreement wherein our group will establish the infrastructure and the UP government will facilitate the investors and help them in settling down at the park from where they can sell raw material to the coach factory that is merely 25 km away.”

Khan said the project, involving an estimated investment of over Rs 2500 crore, will generate 20,000 jobs, helping raise the living standards of the local people.
